I’d be miserable without my rice cooker. Of course I could make rice without it, but I wouldn’t want to. There’s no worrying about burning, drying out or ruining the rice when you use a rice cooker. And then, when you realize you can make something as awesome as this easy Jambalaya recipe with virtually no cooking skills – you’d be crazy not to own one.
So easy it’s barely cooking. But wait to you see how it turns out…
1 1/2 cups uncooked rice (not instant rice)
1 pound spicy smoked sausage, the fully cooked kind - cut lengthwise and then into 1/4 inch half rounds
1 pound raw peeled and de-veined shrimp
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded into bite-sized pieces
7 ounces diced green chilies
2 tablespoons Creole seasoning
4 cups chicken broth
- Put everything into the rice cooker, stir well, close the lid and press start.
- When the rice cooker goes off - it's ready and delicious.
