Don’t Need It, But Want It — Bedding Gadgets
Lately I’ve been on a major Netflix kick (hello, “House of Cards” and “The Returned” ). And while I’d like to think I’m the kind of reasonable person who can limit herself to one or two episodes an evening — I’m not. My bedtime binge-watching can easily go well into the wee hours of the morning.
Which brings me to my new obsession — bedding gadgets. Those extra hours awake in bed have me thinking about ways to upgrade this area of my bedroom. Here are a few items I have on my wish list.
1. Sheet Straps
Full disclosure: I’m not the most sound sleeper. As a result, I tend to wake up in a tangle of sheets and drool. And while completely remaking my bed every morning isn’t that big of a deal, it would be awesome if I could make it through one night without my fitted sheet ending up on the floor.
Discovering sheet straps has been a total revelation. These nifty little guys keep your bed looking nice and neat, no matter how much you toss and turn. Problem solved.
I’ve gotten into the bad habit of resting my computer on my lap or blankets to binge watch TV. This isn’t good for me or my computer, which is why I have my eye on this tray table. Not only is it just the right sized to set my laptop on, but it’s got a little bit of a vintage vibe (which we all know I’m a big fan of).
Try as I might, I can never seem to create the exact right pillow formation to comfortably watch TV in bed. Enter the faux fur backrest. Not only does this gem sit at the perfect angle, but I imagine it feels like a teddy bear giving you a hug from behind.
Why invest in just any reading lamp when you can have a reading lamp that’s attached to a giant pillow? This version also comes with an iPad® pocket — so basically, it’s the Starship Enterprise of husband pillows.
