Holiday All-Star: KitchenAid® Stand Mixer

You already love the KitchenAid® Stand Mixer for baking. Now, see what else it can do!

The holidays are the time of the year when people slow down, make time for friends and family, spread joy through giving, and of course, spend lots of extra time in the kitchen. It’s where memories (and great food) are made. Holiday cooking is special, but it can also be intimidating.

Enter the KitchenAid® Stand Mixer. It looks pretty on your counter, and you probably already love it for baking. During the holiday season every year, we use it to mix millions of batches of cookie dough, whip peaks of whipped cream for pumpkin pies, knead pound after pound of yeast dough for fresh bread, and so much more.

But the stand mixer is also a game changer for cooks, and for the holidays, it can make your life a whole lot easier. First things first: mashed potatoes, the food no holiday is complete without. It’s simple. Start with your flat beater accessory; add your cooked, cut potatoes; and mix at speed 2 for about a minute. Add your remaining ingredients (butter, milk, etc.) and mix at speed 4 until everything is smooth. Then, switch to the wire whisk and whip at a high speed for two or three minutes. You’ll never go back to hand-mashing!

Here are some other holiday ideas:

1. Use the flat beater accessory to make shredded turkey sandwiches with your leftover Thanksgiving turkey.

2. Make fresh whipped cream from scratch using your wire whip with heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla.

3. Make your own low-carb noodles by spiralizing zucchini noodles with the spiralizer attachment.

4. Make your own grain free and gluten-free lasagna by cutting zucchini sheets with the vegetable sheet cutter attachment.

5. Reduce mixing time and the need to scrape down the sides of the bowl to incorporate the ingredients with the flex edge beater.

Play with the different attachments! There’s not a lot you can’t do. This year, we’re also into the sifter and scale attachment. This baking tool accurately measures, thoroughly sifts, and automatically adds dry ingredients directly to your mixer bowl in just one step. It’s pretty much foolproof.
