Kale, Avocado & Apple Smoothie Bowl Recipe


Kale and avocado are among the healthiest foods and apples (remember an apple a day…) aren’t too shabby either! This beautiful green smoothie is really delicious and don’t worry it tastes mostly of apple and not a bit like kale!


Overview

  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving, (1 1/4 cups)

Ingredients

Smoothie:

  • 1 Granny Smith apple, cored, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup lightly packed baby kale
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1/2 cup ice

Toppings:

  • Diced red apple
  • Halved seedless grapes
  • Dried cherries or cranberries
  • Sunflower seeds

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients in blender or smoothie maker and blend until smooth (sweeten with honey or agave syrup if desired). Pour into bowl and top with Toppings.

Notes:

If in season, pomegranate arils would be a nice sweet-tart swap for the dried cherries.
