White Sauce Recipe


  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cook Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: Makes approximately one cup




  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 2 Tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/4 cups milk, heated
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground pepper


  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add flour and cook, stirring constantly, about 2 minutes until it becomes a very thick paste.
  2. Slowly add milk, a little at a time continuing to stir as the sauce thickens. Add salt & pepper, lower the heat and cook stirring for another couple minutes.
